basketball day camps

These camps are geared toward players of all skill levels who want to both improve their skills and have fun. They begin with the mornings on the court and the afternoons back at Heartland Alliance Church, except for Friday, where we spend the entire day at the court.

Each player will receive over 17 hours of court time each week, where we focus on skills-based learning through a mixture of drills, activities, and competitions. Off-court time at Heartland Alliance Church will have players involved in  team-building fun, gamified fitness, and classroom learning focusing on game knowledge, character and leadership development, and personal health. This includes outdoor games such as capture the flag, as well as team sports like street hockey, outdoor volleyball, or outdoor basketball.

Camp Details:

  • Athletic clothing and indoor shoes are required. A change of clothes for the afternoon is suggested as well as outdoor running shoes.
  • Registration includes an Encounter Sports reversible basketball jersey.
  • Players need to bring a bagged lunch for Monday-Thursday. Microwaves will be available.  The camp provides hot lunch on Friday. Players are recommended to bring a snack for the morning and afternoon each day.
  • Monday - Friday drop off is 7:45 am at Heartland Alliance Church.
  • Bussing is provided to the Edmonton Intercultural Center gymnasium in the morning as well as back to Heartland mid-day.
  • Monday - Thursday pick up is at 3:30 pm at Heartland Alliance Church.

competitive basketball camps

The goal of these camps is to enhance players’ skill levels and sharpen their decision-making abilities, helping equip them for open gyms, fall basketball leagues, and their junior/senior high basketball tryouts. If players are new to the sport, they may find these weeks more challenging than our July Day Camps. Camp begins with mornings on the court and afternoons back at Heartland Alliance Church, except for Friday, where we spend the entire day at the court.

Each player will receive over 17 hours of on-court training during the week. Off-court time will include team sports, cardio and strength training, and fun conditioning exercises as well as classroom learning focusing on game knowledge, character development, leadership, and personal health.
