This new format, which includes smaller teams and play within a structured league, offers a fun, skill-building, and competitive experience for families looking for a less-commitment, locally focused league experience. We are partnering with Transcend Athletics to provide this new experience.
Program Overview
- Team Structure:
- Smaller teams of 15 skaters and one goalie.
- Teams formed per age group where enough interest is expressed, focusing on skill development and team play in a non-contact environment.
- No tryouts
- Teams will be made with the following considerations:
- League parity
- Diverse skill sets on each team
- Friend requests
- Age Groups
- Season Duration: April to mid-June.
- Weekly Ice Sessions:
- Practices and Games: Each team will receive 1-2 weekly ice sessions.
- Standings Tracked: Weekly standings will be published, fostering a healthy, competitive environment.
- Tournaments and Playoffs:
- Mid-Season Tournament: A fun competition to test team progress midway through the season.
- Year-End Playoffs: All teams will compete in a structured playoff, culminating in a championship to crown the league winner.
- Player Workshops: Regular leadership and team-building workshops help players grow in confidence, humility, and sportsmanship.
- Special Events:
- As the opportunity arises, team fun events will be available at the coach’s discretion.
- A year-end team retreat to celebrate the season, reflect on personal and team growth and build community with teammates.
- Investment:
- TBD: Approximately $850
- Cost includes league registration, jersey, team hoodie, ice time for practices and games, team events, year-end retreat, one in-season tournament, playoff fees, referee costs, and coaching.
- Payment can be made in installments.
- Team members will be required to participate in one organization-wide fundraiser.
